01
Identify the finish, the damage and the fittings.
Textured plastic, painted bumpers and trim inserts may require different approaches. A bumper that looks lightly scratched can also have damaged clips or brackets behind it.
- Photograph the bumper from both corners and straight on.
- Include splits, missing trim, loose fixings and changes in the panel gap.
- Mention parking sensors, cameras, lights and any warnings after the impact.
02
Repair versus replacement.
Some cosmetic damage can be repaired and refinished; other damage requires a replacement component. A genuine reclaimed OEM bumper may be an option if the specification, condition and fittings are suitable. Safety and compatibility come before price.
03
Do not leave electrical equipment out of the scope.
A repair assessment should consider equipment affected by the damage. Tell us what has stopped working. Inspection or specialist checks may be needed; they should not be assumed to be included unless stated in the agreed scope.
