SPECIALIST VAN BODYWORK. A REPAIR-FIRST APPROACH. Owner-drivers & fleets

PLAN THE VANS, NOT JUST THE DAMAGE.

A fleet bodywork repair planning checklist.

A clear list of vehicles, damage and operating requirements makes a fleet repair enquiry more useful. It does not need to be complicated, but each van needs its own record.

Photos support an initial assessment. Inspection may be needed to confirm the repair and price.

01

Create one record for each van.

Start with the registration, make and model, body specification and current location. Add photos, a description of the damage and any operational concerns.

  • Note doors that do not close and components that are loose.
  • Identify wraps, signwriting, conversions and fitted equipment.
  • Record any existing estimate so the scopes can be compared.

02

State availability rather than assuming a turnaround.

Explain how many vans can be released at once and whether there are dates when particular vehicles are needed. Inspection findings, parts and the agreed work affect scheduling; do not treat a preferred date as a confirmed booking.

03

Confirm the handover and collection plan.

For eligible free fleet collection, provide the full postcode and vehicle condition. Agree collection suitability, access, timing and the contact responsible for the handover. Keep the agreed repair scope and price with each vehicle record.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your questions.
Clear answers.

Does an enquiry reserve a repair slot?

No. The work, availability and any collection arrangements must be agreed before a booking is confirmed.

Should existing estimates be included?

Yes, if you want an equivalent comparison. Check that parts, labour, paintwork and VAT are included consistently.
